To start off, we miss you like crazy! I can not mention you without crying still. There are a few things that I wanted to say at your funeral, but at the time I was not strong enough to stand in front of all of your guests to speak. So, instead I wanted to write it down here for you.

To start off, we miss you like crazy! I can not mention you without crying still. There are a few things that I wanted to say at your funeral, but at the time I was not strong enough to stand in front of all of your guests to speak. So, instead I wanted to write it down here for you.

I am one of Dorothy's loved grandchildren and one of the luckiest people in the world to have someone like her in my life. She was a mother, a grandmother, a sister, and a friend to all of us! Each person that Dorothy had in her life she had made an imprint on their hearts. She was the rock in our family, the kind of person that would put you before herself no matter the situation. Dorothy never liked asking for help, she was always ready to lend a helping hand to others or even a few words of wisdom... or a witty remark =]. She would do anything in her power to help others.

February reminds me of love. She loved unconditionally. All of her hardships in life never left her bitter or hardened her heart. I know from my experience that with each grandchild or great-grandchild born her love only grew! Even though she will not be here to meet her, I know she will be watching down on my little girl and keeping an eye on the both of us. Mema was one of my favorite people in my life and will be forever cherished. I don't know if I will ever be able to live up to what she saw in me, but I can only try.

Although she never got the chance, I believe that in her own way she was able to show us how important we all were to her. We may no longer see her, but we will always have these special moments we shared with her. Dorothy will always have a special place in our hearts. Let us just be thankful that we knew a special woman like my mema.

Your heart can be empty because you can't see her
or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back
or you can open your eyes and see all she's left.

I love you and miss you every day...

Though I haven't seen Dorothy for many years, I've always remembered the joy and laughter she brought to us all. She could make each of us feel as if we were the most important person in the room. I know how much she will be missed.

My Grandma was never without a smile for me and especially my girls. She loved all children and knew what they liked, cookies, candy, kool-aid, she was always a hit! Her 7-layer cookies will go down in history along with her beautiful smile and contagious laugh. I will miss you so much, but I know you are happy with Grandpa and Diane by your side. Love you!

Dorothy had such a kind and gentle spirit to go along with that smile. She loved her family and it showed. She has left a great legacy of girls to carry on her love. I am sure her beloved Kenny welcomed her with open arms. You will be missed dear Dorothy...God Bless you!

Ijust loved the way she showed love of family and when she was in the room you really felt loved. I will always think of her in that way. I love you all and miss you all. my prayers are with you this day and everyday. Heaven has a new angel this day. God Bless and hold you aunt Dorothy.

I will never forget Aunt Dorothy even though I haven't seen her in years. There was never a time, when visiting my Dad, that she was without a smile. I loved when the Aunts and cousins came to visit Grandma Carter and I was there. Aunt Dorothy lit up a room! Her and Uncle Kenny were always laughing! Love to all the family and my condolences for your dear loss.

Dorothy was the ideal Mother and Grandmother, deeply loved by her daughter Carrie, who is my granddaughter by marriage to Eric. Her bright smile and strong love for her family will be missed, but loving memories will persist through time.

Dorothy was a wonderful, loving, gracious person who opened her arms and heart to many people. She was warm and loving to me from the first time we met. We loved going to Dorothy's for Christmas eve and seeing the whole family. We will miss her tremendously.
