In 2005 I walked in my 1st 3-day 60 Mile Breast Cancer Walk. My Dad had been diagnosed with cancer two years earlier and I wanted to do something to make a different. Lake that year I learned that a dear friend Debi Whitmore was fighting a battle against cancer. She lost her battle in February 2006 and that year I dedicated the 60 mile walk in her memory. When I got to the finish line that year, Debis sisters

I read of a man who stood to speak
At the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
From the beginning to the end.

He noted that first came the date of her birth
And spoke of the following date with tears,

That she spent alive on earth
And now only those who loved her
Know what that little line is worth.

What great memories we have of Missy! We had some wild and crazy times in the Quarterback Club, serving pizza, taking fruit and water to the boys, parking cars, decorating, making t-shirts, ringing cowbells, fundraising and so much more! The bottom line is that Missy was a great Mom and team player! She loved her Leopards and Leopard extended family...and we all loved her! Her smile was contagious and we always could count on her. from our family to hers..."
