Memories & Candles
I know that Michael will live on in his family and in his many friends, whose lives he changed and made better. I heard his words all through the Christmas holidays, asking for peace and joy and "medicine" for all of us. And "fair for an old square" sounded out in the Christmas bells.

We shared many mornings together and a lifetime of learning. An untentional teacher, Michael touched me with his humility, frankness, and acceptance of what God placed before him. His lessons became ours and we're richer for it -- and for his caring friendship.

Michael's kindness and caring for others lives on. He was a good listener with an open heart who made all feel welcomed and valued. His words and actions brought peace to many. His gifts of friendship and fellowship live on.

Michael was such a kind person, and helped me and others more than he knew. His honesty, peaceful demeanor, and positive message will remain in our hearts long after. Safe travels friend.

We were saddened to hear of Michael's passing. His name was mentioned a lot at our reunion dinner last week. He was the sweetest, most gentle man. He will really be missed.

Michael loved his family, his friends and his sober life. He showed his gratitude with service to others. He was able to get the "message of hope" out to a diverse crowd of people. I'm very grateful we were friends. I already miss my friend. God already blessed my friend Michael, and I got to watch it happen.

Thank God for God and for Michael also. I believed Michael was an angel on earth. And now his angel wings know no bounds. God bless and keep you -- his family. What an honor and a comfort to have known Michael.

What a shock to learn of your passing in the paper. I have known you since I was a teen, me from Lincoln Heights (DC) and you from the BIG HOUSE, you were and still are family. Andrea, Cynthia and I watching Little Mike - so many memories.
May God Embrace You On Your Homecoming.
