Carroll W. Green, 80, of McPherson, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at Heartland Haven in rural Inman, KS. Carroll was formerly of LaHabra Heights, CA and moved to McPherson in 2003. He was an Industrial Arts Teacher for the Montebello, California Unified School District, and also owned & operated Green Products.
Carroll was born on January 5, 1932, in Ringgold, Nebraska, the son of John Chriswell and Jennie (Kuglar) Green. He graduated from Los Angeles Pacific College and Santa Barbara College, and received his Masters degree from California State University, Los Angeles.
In 1951, he married Carroll Jean Pounders. After the marriage ended, he was united in marriage to Marianne Joy Snellenberger on August 30, 1969, in Santa Barbara, CA.
He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, McPherson.
Survivors include: wife, Marianne of the home; sons, Timothy Green of Redlands, CA, Dennis Green of Brea, CA, Andrew Green and wife, Rachel, of Hutchinson, KS, and Garrick Green and wife, Melinda, of McPherson, KS; daughters, Denise Harris of Woodland Park, CO and Tamara Dachinger and husband, David, of Scarsdale, NY; brothers, John Green of McPherson, KS, Bob Green and wife, Gayla, of McPherson, KS, and Clark Green and wife, Ruth, of Hamilton, MT; sisters, Faith Smidderks and husband, Dean, of McPherson, KS and Hope Smith and husband, Jim, of Oroville, CA; nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at the Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Cate and Rev. Dean Smidderks officiating. Inurnment will be in the McPherson Cemetery with Rev. Hendrick Smidderks officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, August 20, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
