Corinne Descant Thomas passed away on Friday, August 17, 2012 at the age of 94. She was a native of Hessmer, LA and lived in Metairie for the last 53 years. She was married to Anthony Guillot and after his death married again to Samuel Thomas (deceased). She was the daughter of the late Francois Descant and the late Ella Ducote. She was preceded in death by her daughter Shirley Guillot Naquin. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Sam, Leon, and Percy Descant and by her sisters Sarah Descant Carmouche, Josephine Descant Barbry, Sybil Descant Carmouche, and Rita Descant Manuel. She is survived by her sons Laniel Guillot (Mary), Samuel Thomas Jr, and Donald Thomas (Laura) and by her daughters Sherran Thomas and Myrna Thomas. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Russell Guillot, Jeffrey Guillot (Michelle), Adrin Cannon (Amanda), Amanda Thomas, Angela Thomas Guttosa (Sid), Jonathan Norris (Jennifer), and Hope Norris. She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren and many, many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their gratitude for the care she received at the Chateau Living Center in Kenner and at Ochsner Kenner Regional Hospital. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass at Greenwood Funeral Home at 5200 Canal Blvd, New Orleans on Wednesday, August 22 beginning at 11:00AM. Visitation will begin at 9:00AM and last until the time of Mass. Interment will follow the Mass in Greenwood Cemetery.
