Frank A. Potts, 67, died Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at his residence on the Old Williamsport Pike following a seven year battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Telford Tharp, Brother Jason Keyser and Brother Randy Kersey officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com.

The Maury County native was born February 5, 1945, the son of the late Frank N. Potts and Virginia Lena Rummage Potts. He served in the United States Army from 1963 until 1965. Frank worked at Avecia Chemical Plant in Mt. Pleasant for over thirty years. He loved working on the family farm and raising cattle. He was a member of United Pentecostal of Columbia.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Margaret Jones Potts of Columbia; son, Tony (Deanna) Potts of Columbia; daughters, Carla (Kevin) Pugh and Tonya Potts both of Columbia; brother, Melvin (Bonnie) Potts of Columbia; grandchildren; Brandi Johnson, Breanna Potts, Jeff White, Mason Pugh, Michael Pugh; great-grandchildren, Gavin Johnson and Carter Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers will be Jeff White, Mason Pugh, Michael Pugh, Chris Potts, Derrick Potts, Victor Tate and Alvin Luna. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Tidwell, Billy Workman and Norwood Jones. Special thanks to Caris Hospice and the Staff of Dr. Patrick Murphy of Tennessee Oncology of Franklin.
