Gene Arnold Cason, Sr. passed away on Monday, November 26, 2012. Gene was born on October 5, 1934 in Lancaster, Texas to Frances and Jack Cason. He married Durene Cason on December 29, 1974 in Houston, Texas. Gene was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be remembered for working hard his entire life, loving the outdoors, and peddling his wares. He was known for his great sense of humor and witt and never met a stranger.

Gene was preceded in death by his mother and father.

He is survived by his loving wife, Durene Cason of Georgetown, Texas, his oldest son and daughter-in-law, Gene Cason Jr. and Lana of Bryan, Texas, son Stephen Cason and wife Karen, his oldest daughter Kimberly Ashby and husband Allen of Georgetown, Texas, daughter Kyra Moore and husband Micheal of Lampasas, Texas, and daughter Missy Cooper and Bryan of Sumner, Texas. Gene is also survived by grandchildren, Jeremy Cason, Dustin, Victoria, Stephen Jr. and Kadie Cason, Aaron Brooks and husband Clint, Jessica Sanders and husband Nolan, Alyson and Austin Ashby, Whitney and Maygen Cauthen, Ashley, Shane, Justin, Samantha and Taylor Moore, Zackary and Jacob Cooper, and Katy and Justin Maddox. His great-grandchildren are Grace and Chloe Maddox, Ethan Hightower, Jordan Brooks, also his brother, Ewell Cason and wife Rita of Wichita Falls, Texas, and numerous neices and nephews.

The family wishes to thank Scott & White Hospital ICU Unit of Round Rock, Texas and Hospice, who took such good care of Gene.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 7th, in the Chapel of Ramsey Funeral Home. Pastor Larry Young, of Celebration Church, Georgetown, will be officiating the service.
