Itolene Heatherly George age 92, of Maryville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 16, 2012, at her daughter's home. She was born in Campbell County, TN. She was one of seven children born to John H. and Louis (Dinwiddie) Heatherly. Her younger years were spent raising her four children on a farm in Blount County. Her later years were challenging due to her blindness but she always saw the beauty in family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Robert Don George, Sr. She is survived by her daughter, Delores Hummel and husband, Robert; sons Robert George, Jr. and wife, Dorinda; Ronnie George and wife, Robin; Bobby Lockwood and wife, Gloria. She leaves behind several well-loved grandchildren and wonderful great-grand children that brought her many happy memories. Her entire family was a great comfort to her. Gram was a special person that loved sharing her gum and butterscotch candies with all. She also leaves behind many friends, young and old, as well as loving nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Avalon Hospice and their caring staff including Lisa, Mary, Patti, and Stacey. Family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Smith Trinity Chapel with a Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow immediately after the celebration service at Grandview Cemetery.
