MANSFIELD -- Jana Denise Tarpley Grubb, 52, a former proofreader/typesetter for Lockheed, passed into God's embrace Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, at an Arlington hospital after a long and valiant struggle with breast cancer.
Memorial service: was held at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church in Mansfield. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park, Fort Worth.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Jana was born in Fort Worth on May 10, 1958. She lived all her life in the Fort Worth area. She graduated from O.D. Wyatt High School in 1976 and attended TCJC. Jana was married in 1998 and gave birth to her only child in 1999. She was an active member of Wichita Street Baptist Church, Travis Avenue Baptist Church and Walnut Ridge Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Howard N. Tarpley.
Survivors: Husband, Laurence N. Grubb; daughter, Kerissa M. Grubb; mother, Margaret M. Tarpley; brother, Joe D. Tarpley and wife, Patricia; brother, Kim R. Tarpley and wife, Kum Hui; niece, Rebekah Hood and husband, Travis; niece, Sarah Tarpley; and niece, Jill Tarpley.
