Manny is survived by his soul mate, the love of his life of 60 years, Shirley Carmona. He was a loving and devoted father to his two daughters Marilyn and Debbie Carmona of San Mateo and San Jose respectively and father-in-law to Chuck Carmona of Redwood City and Susan Zimbelman of San Jose.
Manny is also survived by his older sister and brother-in-law Mary & Steve Katches of San Francisco, his younger sister Betty Ramirez of San Francisco and his sister-in-law Edith Sadewitz also of San Francisco. He is preceded by his mother and father Margaret and Antonio Carmona, his brother Antonio (Tony) Carmona, and his two sisters Carmen Bosel and Margaret (Babe) Kirkman.
Manny was dearly loved by his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, and deeply touched the lives of all of his friends, coworkers, and anyone who met him. He reached everyone with his sense of humor and quick wit and will be missed by all.
A resident of Daly City for 60 years, Manny was born in San Francisco and grew up in its Bay View District. He attended Mission High School.
A retired firefighter from the Daly City Fire Department in 1982 after 27 years of honored service, he previously worked for P G & E, served in the Merchant Marines and also served in the Army.
An avid bowler in San Francisco and Daly City, Manny participated in three leagues up until a couple of years ago when his health prevented him from continuing. He also enjoyed rooting for the San Francisco home teams the Giants and 49ers.
