Funeral services will be held Monday, August 20, 2012, at 2:00 PM at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin for Marie Odell "Dell" Dupre Chauvin, 91, a native and lifelong resident of Franklin, who passed away Friday, August 17, 2012 at the Franklin Health Care Center. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Fr. Lloyd Benoit will officiate the services.
Dell was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed tending to her plants and flowers. She will be deeply missed.
Survivors include four sons, Roy Chauvin, Jr. of Carthage, MS, Jimmy Chauvin and his wife Jamie L. Chauvin of Franklin, David Chauvin and his wife Trudy H. Chauvin of Franklin, and Johnny Chauvin and his wife Kayla L. Chauvin of Franklin; three daughters, Sandra Louviere and her husband Gerald Louviere of New Iberia, Jane Sinitiere and her husband Ronald Sinitiere of Franklin, and Susan Tourney and her husband Johnny Tourney of Lafayette; one brother, Dudley Dupre and his wife Margie B. Dupre of Franklin; one sister, Irene Dupre of Franklin; 17 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Anthony Chauvin, Sr.; her parents, Ferdinand J. Dupre, Sr. and Valerie Bergeron Dupre; four brothers, Amos Dupre, Ferdinand J. Dupre Jr., Eugene Dupre, and Marshall Dupre; two sisters, Annabelle LeBlanc and Lucille Theriot; and one daughter-in-law, Brenda Culter Chauvin.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday at Ibert's Mortuary from 11:00 Am until time of service at 2:00 PM.
