Mrs. Mary Ellen Barber-McCall, 74, of San Francisco, CA was born August 31, 1937 and passed away on August 12, 2012.Born to the late Joseph & Helen Barber.Predeceased by her brothers Richard & David.She was a Chicago native who moved to San Francisco in the 70's.She became a well respected Public Health Nurse for the City & County of San Francisco,a job she held for 30 years.She is survived by her husband,Walter;her sister-in-law Dolores Barber;nephews Peter ( Sharon );Chris ( Annie );Nieces Liz Anema ( Andy );Meg Herrera ( Smilly );Sarah Langerman ( Jess ).Many Grand neices & nephews. She had good relations with Walt's side of the family;his brother Ed ( Nayda );Bernadette Proulx ( John ) & their children.A devout Catholic,she attended daily Mass,until illness kept her away.She frequently lead the Rosary & took communion to many home-bound parishoniers on an almost - daily basis.She was a member of the Legion of Mary & the League of the Sacred Heart at St.Cecilia's Church.She was very well liked by priests & parishoners alike .She loved to travel to visit family in the Mid-West & took many overseas trips with Walt.She had a marvelous smile & a quick wit.She had a mischievous twinkle in her eyes. She will surely be missed !
