Patricia Ann (Davis) Carpenter of Bald Knob, passed away at home on Friday, December 14, 2012 at the age of 71 from cancer.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Pauline (Dunn) Davis; four brothers, Wallace, Bill, Duane and David Davis; one sister, Paula Bennett.
She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Bob Carpenter, whom she married in Beebe, Arkansas on June 28, 1958.
She is also lovingly remembered by her four children, Robin (Michael) Mason of Velvet Ridge, Carl (Bobbie) Carpenter of Judsonia, LeeAnn (Larry) Long of Cotter and Shayne Carpenter of Bald Knob; six grandchildren, Terra Mason Brown, Adam Mason, Cody Preller, Victoria Preller, Shayla Gay and Skylar Southerland; six great-grandchildren, Journee Brown, Ryder and Race Mason, Caleb Carpenter, Carly and Alyssa Southerland and Elaina Gay; four sisters, Betty Mayfield, Norma Mihelic, Ruby York and Kay Morrison; one brother, Thomas Davis and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was born in Searcy, Arkansas on February 11, 1941 and attended Bald Knob Schools. She traveled extensively with her husband, who was in the Air Force for sixteen years. She was full of life and laughter and had a love for flowers and gardening. Ann had been awarded "Yard of the Month" by the garden club several times. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the First Baptist Church in Bald Knob. Although she volunteered for many activities, both military and civilian, her first passion was her family. She spent many hours with her grand and great-grandchildren. They loved their Mamaw!
Visitation will be on Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home. Services will be conducted on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Bald Knob with Bro. Mike Ball officiating. Interment will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery by Powell Funeral Home, Bald Knob-Judsonia. www.powellfuneralhome.net.
