Patricia L. Sears, age 77 , of Odon, IN, passed away on Sunday, Jan.13, 2013 at 12:55 a.m. at the Ketcham Memorial Center in Odon, IN. She was born in Indianapolis, IN on June 14, 1935, the daughter of George B. and Clesta L. (Ramsey) Hart. She married Harry L. "Bubby" Sears on December 24, 1954 and he preceded her in death on July 5, 1995.
Pat, or Patty as she was known to close friends and relatives, enjoyed helpiing others. She was a member of the Odon Christian Church and enjoyed playing bells wih the Saints of Seniority Joy Bells. She was also a former member of the Rebekah Lodge in Odon. An avid bingo player, she served as a volunteer at the Ketcham Memorial Center for many years assisting the residents during bingo games and later enjoyng the game again as a resident at KMC. Patty graduated from Epsom High School with the class of 1953 and went on to work at Dearmin & Comnpany in Odon. She became a stay-at-home mom after the birth of their second duaghter and then babysat for many other local children over the years.
Patty is surivived by four dautghter and sons-in-law: Jeanette (Dwayne) Hostetter of Bloomfield, Janice (Kenny) Sanders of Odon, Kimberly (Mark) Wilz of Washington and Darla (Aaron) Witsman of Bloomington; nine grandchldren: Amanda (Rich) Parker, Bryan Sanders, Dustin Wilz, Alan Jordan (Ashley) Sims, Andrea Hostetter,Kristen Hostetter, Lauren Hostetter, Haley Witsman and Emily Witsman'; and three great-grandchildren: Kayleigth Parker, Kaden Parker and Kendall Sanders.
She was preceded in death by a granddaug. Melisa Renee' Sims on March 7, 2000, her parents, five brothers and two sisters. She was the last of her immediate family.
Services will be held at the Odon Christian Church on Thursday,January 17,2013 at 10:00 a.m.with Bro Richard Crabtree officiating.
Visitation will be held at the Odon Christian Church from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16 and from 9:00 a.m. till time of service on Thursday,
Burial will be in the Walnut Hill Cemetery
