Rita C. Wells, 79, of Yardley, Pa, died on August 15, 2012 at Chandler Hall Hospice, Newtown. Born in Philadelphia, Rita was a 43-year resident of Yardley and formerly of Philadelphia.

Rita is a retired retail clerk from Cramer's Bakery in Yardley after 18 years of service. She is an active communicant of St. Ignatius Church where she sang in the Choir and participated in Charismatic ministries. She was a member of the Yardley Post #6393 VFW and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knowles-Doyle Post #317 American Legion.

Rita is the daughter of the late Gaetano and Assunta Celli and she is survived by her husband of 55 years, John "Jack" R. Wells and her devoted sons, Robert and his wife Cindy of Alphartta, GA and David and his wife LuAnne of Yardley. She is the proud grandmother of Lauren, Samantha, Jared, David and Andrew. Rita is also survived by her sister Flora McVay and numerous nieces and nephew.

Relatives and friends are invited to Rita's Life Celebration on Friday, August 17 from 6 to 9 PM at the Swartz/Givnish Funeral Home, 323 Washington Ave., Newtown and to her Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, August 18 at 9:30 AM at St. Ignatius Church Reading Ave, Yardley. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery. Rita's family requests Mass Cards or donations to the Alzheimer's Assoc., 399 Market St. Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
