Robert James Powell, age 54 years, died August 10, 2012. He was born in Bay City, MI on July 28, 1958. He served in the U. S. Marines for 15 years and was retired from City Transfer Co. He was an avid sports fan, pool player and loved the University of Michigan teams. He was a member of the Moose Lodge.
Survivors include: 2 sisters Dianna (Jerry) McQuarter and Debbie (Chris) Dowd, his nieces and nephews: Brandy (Jeremy) Udovich, Candice (Jerry) Kukla, Jason Federspiel, Tyler St. Martin, Jerrid McQuarter, Daniel (Kara) McQuarter, Logan and Lyndsey McQuarter, and Samantha Powell, and his great nieces and nephews: Cameron and Liam Udovich, Emma and Alivia McQuarter and Lilliana Kukla. He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth M. Powell and Dorothy M. Powell and a brother Kenneth Powell.
Funeral Liturgy will be Friday, August 17, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home with Sister Mary Epple presiding. Burial will be at Elm Lawn Cemetery with Military Rites under the direction of the Bay County Veterans Council. The family will receive friends on Friday from 9 a.m. until service time.
