Robert Glen Mills, 74, of Antioch, Arkansas, died Wednesday, August 8, 2012. He retired as a Corporal with the Arkansas State Police. He served as a Corporal with the U.S. Marine Corp. from 1955 to 1965. He reenlisted in the Arkansas Army National Guard 39th Infantry in 1981 and retired in 1992 as a Sergeant First Class. Robert was a member of the American Legion. He loved to travel and his greatest joy in life was spending time with his children and grandchildren and watching his grandchildren play sports.
Robert is survived by three sons, Robert (Loretta) Mills of Sheridan, David Mills of East End and Gerald (Kathy) Mills of East End; one daughter, Balenda Metzger of Bauxite; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five brothers, Jesse Mills of North Little Rock, Charles Mills of Little Rock, John (Kathy) Mills of Missouri, Raymond (Karen) Mills of Beebe; and James (Dorothy) Mills of Mississippi; two sisters, Dorothy Fitzpatrick of Florida and Sylveen Ballard of Beebe; and one sister-in-law, Lee Mills of Beebe. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Hunter Lee Mills; brother, Joe Mills; sisters Margaret Rankin, Mae Skyles, Louise Mills and Lucille Mills; and parents Jesse and Silvia Penrose Mills.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 13, 2012, at Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
