Roland R. "Dick" Cameron, 88, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Fort Wayne. Born in Defiance, OH, Dick was a project engineer with Phelps Dodge, retiring in 1985. He was a WWII Navy Veteran and past Exalted Ruler of Elks Lodge in Defiance, OH. Dick enjoyed working in the yard, stained glass work and loved his family. Surviving are his wife, Maxine Schafer Cameron, step-daughters, Suzy Schafer, Carol (Kevin) Laughlin all of Fort Wayne, and Jan Schafer (Tom Steller) of Cincinnati, OH, 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Dick was preceded in death by first wife, Elizabeth "Libby" Cameron, and step-son, Steven Schafer. Mass of Christian Resurrection is Monday 10:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10700 Aboite Center Road with Fr. Larry Kramer officiating, calling 1 hour prior to Mass. Calling also 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, with a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to The League for the Blind or The American Legion.
