RONALD E. LEMON
Ronald Elwood Lemon, 74, of Onalaska, WI, formerly of Downsville, Milwaukee, Waukesha and Mosinee, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Gunderson Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, WI.
He was born June 27, 1938 in Menomonie, WI to Edwin and Margaret (Running) Lemon. In 1960, he married Barbara (DesMarais) in Milwaukee, WI and lived in the Milwaukee and Waukesha area until 1993. After retirement they built a home in Mosinee on Lake DuBay and lived there until 1999, when they moved to the La Crosse area to be near their grandchildren.
In the past, Ron used to play the saxophone. He was an avid "Wisconsin" sports fan, cheering on the Packers, Brewers and Badgers. Ron enjoyed auto racing, NASCAR, and also throughout the years, was a golfer. Since moving to "Eagles Crest" in Onalaska, Ron enjoyed singing with the facilities choir. Ron was an outdoor enthusiast, loving to watch the bald eagles around LaCrosse and the river. Most of all, Ron enjoyed his children and grandsons and spending time with them.
Ron is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara, of Onalaska; son and daughter-in-law Eric and Julie, and grandsons Ryan, Nathan, and Zachary, of Onalaska; daughter Tori of Waukesha; sister and brother-in-law Marilyn and Dick Runkle of Waukesha; sister-in-law Sharon Schuppler of Waukesha; many nieces and nephews; and special friends Bob Galusha and Joe Rosso.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law Sue Karbash, brother-in-law Arthur DesMarais, and several close aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Ron will be missed not only by his immediate and extended family, but also his lifelong friends, and most recent friends at Eagle Crest Apartments. His generosity and kindness touched many throughout his life.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie with Pastor Dale Moe officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Downsville, WI. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00am until time of service at the funeral home.
