Vickie Swett

Pickens – Vickie Anita Blackwell Swett, 46, wife of David Lane Swett went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, August 14, 2012 following a brief illness.

Vickie was born in Pickens County a daughter of Dan Franklin and Yvonne Chappell Blackwell of Pickens. She owned and operated her own house cleaning service and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Vickie will be remembered as always serving others as demonstrated from her many acts of kindness. She was an avid gardener and loved to sew and work in her yard and also found the time to produce homemade jelly.

Survivors include her husband of 23 years, David, of the home and her son Berry Lane Swett also of the home, her parents of Pickens, a brother Reverend Ronnie Blackwell (Martha) of Laurens, sister Sherry Blackwell of Pickens and brother Jimmy Blackwell (Cendy) also of Pickens.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 17, 2012 at Dillard Funeral Home from 12:30 to 2:00 PM with funeral services following in the funeral home chapel at 2 PM with The Reverend Ronnie Blackwell and The Reverend Chris Swett officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.
