Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Gaynelle Robertson Bankston, brothers, John W. Bankston, Irvin Bankston, and sisters, Artie Pike and Pernie Blackwell. He is survived by his sister Bernice Smith and Brother-in-law Wayne Carl Smith, Brother-in-law, Joe Robertson and Sister-in-law Pat Robertson.
He is survived by daughters Rebecca (Steve) Baluha of Canton, Michigan; Melissa (Tony) Rossi of Houston, Texas; grandson Matthew (Rachel) Baluha of Westland, Michigan; Grandaughters: Sarah (Christopher) Harris of Dayton, Ohio; Amanda (Christopher) Fantauzzi of West Bloomfield, Michigan; Kristin (Paul) Robertson of Westland, Michigan; Great Grandchilden Cameron B aluha, Henry Harris, Seth Baluha, Charlotte Harris and soon to arrive Madelyn Fantauzzi.
